Vtm plays an important role in Flemish households as a general family channel. Last year the biggest commercial channel in Flanders was watched by almost 2 million people a day on average, which was reflected in a market share of 24.6% of main shoppers in the 18 to 44 age group.
In 2011 vtm continued its mix of proven hits and innovations. Megahit shows were Boer zkt Vrouw, Mijn Restaurant! , Idool, Tegen de Sterren Op and the first series of The Voice van Vlaanderen, which was particularly successful .With average viewing figures in excess of one million, the new show appealed to young and old, both on the screen and in the social media.
Telefacts moved to prime time, where it continued to be one of the channel’s proven hit programmes. Flemish drama (Aspe, Code 37, Zone Stad, …) also continued to do well at vtm. There is already a lot of powerful new drama in the pipeline for 2012: Danni Lowinski with Nathalie Meskens, De Zonen van Van As, Deadline 14.10, Clan, …
On 10 June 2011 the Pro League decided on the allocation of the football contract. Vtm received the rights to open network broadcasts and has broadcast the first division football summaries in Stadion since then.
