The last newspapers at Kobbegem printing office

The Belgian newspapers De Tijd and L'Echo rolled off the presses in the Flemish town of Kobbegem for the last time on Saturday. This marked the permanent closure of the printing office in Kobbegem, following the transfer of Belgium's newspapers Het Laatste Nieuws and De Morgen to the Eco Print Center (EPC) in Lokeren, Flanders, a few years ago. The Mediafin newspapers have now also switched to the Berliner format. De Tijd is now printed on EPC's waterless presses and L'Echo is printed on Rossel's KBA presses. Alongside the change of format, there has also been a revamping of the layout and a revision of the editorial approach. For more info, visit: www.tijd.be and www.lecho.be.
